Anybody ever have any plastic welding done? If so who did it and where are they at. I have a gas tank from a 400ex that has a section cut out of it for a special little project and all I like finishing is getting the tank welded.

Unless you've already cut the section out, I've heard of people heating the plastic with a torch and molding it with a spoon. Not sure where you could get it welded:confused:

Too big of a section to do that.

Plastic welding is basically melting the two parts back together and adding where needed. You could buy a kit and do it yourself.

Another option is to melt the parts together and use a gas tank epoxy to seal it completely.

I've welded cracks in my fenders and stuff, but nothing that actually needed a seal like a gas tank. I used a modified soldering iron.

Sounds like a job for JB weld... it's just two tubes of compound you mix together like glue and there you go, it's really strong you can sand it afterwards no problems. I used it to seal the top of my oil res on the 400ex where the line off the rad comes in (didn't leak at all).
