We had our acorns fall about two weeks ago. It sounded like huge chunks of hail at night. I never seen so many acorns.:chinese:

Tons of hickory nuts this year, the smallest are the size of golf balls and get much bigger. The tree is right beside my driveway, so from the beginning of August to the end of September, I have to be careful of where I park.

http://www.arcytech.org/java/population/facts_oaks.html

Site with some information on Oak trees (Where acorns come from. No, they don't come from a tree stark).

"Real strong acorn productions might happen every four to ten years."

i will DEFINITLY be getting another one come spring, i love the bike so much..however..i need something for the winter....here on long island, winter is quad season....go out into our town at 11pm during a blizzard and you will see more quads and snowmobiles riding around than cars, its just something we look forward to all year. a group of my friends ALL got quads this season and i wont be able to handle seeing them riding by while im stuck at home.

umm i just heard on the news here at 530 that the dnr is paying $.03 an acorn here in indiana for research or something. You could probably collect about 1000 acorns an hour, thats decent money plus it cleans up your yard. You guys might look into that.
