San Diego East County Fires....

So, has anyone else been hearing about them? its now become a state of emergency down here. as of late last night, the count was around 14,000 acres.... and i can garantee its waaaay over that already. obviously people from that area aren't gonna be responding but anyone close enough to there online can tell us whats going on or what???

yup...I'm living it right now. I live between North County Fair and the Wild Animal park in Escondido. My mom, dad, grandparents, 2 aunts and uncles and 3 cousins have been evacuated from the surrounding area....just waiting for them to tell me to leave.

Update 250,000 evacuated 100,000 + acres burned this is a very bad one firefighter killed 4 other firefighter burned 13 others injured 60+ homes burned more will go.

how did this fire start anyways?

im in chula vista... supposedly they are guessing that high winds in the mountains knocked down power lines and started these fires.

wind is just making it worse spreading embers evrywhere.

its frightening that most of san diego could possibly go up in flames :(

The 03 Cedar fire burned 300,000 acres. We may have two fires out of 7 fires that may burn that much land this time. This is just in San Diego County. There are fires in LA and Orange Counties all so

yes, definately has the potential to be worse. just to think, these numbers havent been really followed... just estimated. actual numbers after this is all over may well be waaaay over the 03 cedar fires.
