so what are the facts behind the rumor that the stock honda pipe with the hrc kit will give more power than an aftermarket slip-on with the hrc kit? If you think common sense it doesnt even sound possible, but im no pro. So is there any truth to it?

The HRC kit exhaust mod simply uncorks the stock exhaust. A slip on is already uncorked, but weighs much less than the stock unit. Frankly, I don't think one gives that much more of a power gain over the other. If you're going to sink the money, get a full exhuast system. These companies charging $200 to $300 for just the slip-on is a sin and the money to HP gain isn't worth it vs. getting a full system.

When I put my Sparks complete system on, it weighed less than JUST the stock slip-on. The power gain was very noticable and I paid less than $500 for it brand new.

I paid $450 for my sparks, not a big difference. I figured the average was $400 to $500 for a full system.

I just bought a slip on after putting the HRC kit on my 06 simply because the HRC header is very close to the same as any aftermarket companys pipe. I dont really think buying a full system on an 06 or newer bike is going to do anything if you already have the HRC kit.

No NO NO my girlfriend named my bike "the vibrator" because it thumps so hard. I bought her a new 400ex and she doesnt like it as much as mine because of the lack of vibration. Shes crazy. Once she gets on my bike and winds it up its pretty hard to get her off of it.:D Guess I'll have to get some pics.

I got an old YZ 465 she needs to ride then. She would go into shock.:devil:

ha NO WAY!!!!!!!! Then she'd be cheating on my bike, and with a yamahaha none the less!!!! I dont want her getting any bad (blue) ideas........

I am although thinking about trading the 400 in on another R for her though she wants more under her at the dunes, the 400s just not quite ballsy enough for her.
