Which slipon do you all recommend for use with the HRC header pipe? I just purchased an HRC power kit and now are looking for a slipon to compliment it. -Paul

The HMF seems to be the most popular slip on.
IMO one of the best companies that makes BOTH slip-on's and full pipes.

Most of the big names only make full systems.

HMF is my favorite company for slip-ons. I have no dyno sheets to back em' up but they are probably the most popular, so I figure they must be doing something right.

here the list for the best exhaust for the 450r. 1 dasa, 2 rossier, 3 sparks, and 4 hmf. since the first there only come in full systems. the hmf is next, so i have heard they make a great pipe.

and with the hrc header, it will be a great setup, and will perform like a full system. which it kinda is.

Honda's exhaust makes the most power though. Don't know why your going for an aftermarket. Trust me Dyno charts don't lie.

He's keeping the HRC header, and replacing the silencer.
The stock honda silencer deff doesn't make the most power :P
Besides it sounds horrible.

I see this all the time lol. People have a 450R with an HRC kit and a full aftermarket exhaust that includes a bigger head pipe, and they post there dyno chart saying it makes 45-47hp. Honda's HRC kit with the stock muffler boasts a beautiful 50hp at the rear wheels! They designed that kit to work best with the stock muffler.

So assuming I keep the stock muffler with the HRC kit. Should I remove the silencer/spark arrestor from the muffler?

Where did you find that 50 hp claim?

DUDE. 50 HP IS HARD TO ACHEIVE, where is this dyno chart at?, now way in hect are the hrcs making that much. i think the pro race quad are making like 60 some, and they have full systems. cams, porting, pistons, some strokers, carbs, cdis. coil, air filter and box mods, do you think that a cam and exhaust head pipe make like 50 hp!.

50hp? maybe with the new 06-07s with the higher comp ratio but thats a little hard with just what the HRC kits provide. Dyno sheets are great proof on that statement, if you got em post em.

But as for best combination, just try something that you like its not like the 450rs are 2 stroke where a full exhaust would make a huge difference in power. Its always best to just try something because then you can give an opinion like all of us on here when the question is asked by someone else.

For example I have never been disapointed with FMF and I know how other people feel about them and its mostly negative but they have never disapointed me. Now for my next pipe Im going to be looking for something new and different that best suits me.

All in all just try something and tells how you felt about it. If you dont like it theres always ebay :p

ROFL yeah right and my 4 banger s10 puts out 300HP

58HP with only an HRC kit, I'll choose not to believe =)

Thats close to a full pro build.

Here is an 06 with a Hot Cam 2, HRC headpipe and E2 topping at 47.92 HP. I don't know where you found that dyno sheet, but its definitely not of an 07 450r with only the HRC kit.

I've heard that the hrc kit boosts from stock around 40 to around 50 afterwards but i heard in the motor...not rear wheels.

Its easy to make any quad look like it has more horsepower than it really does. i have a 400ex all it has on it is a slip on hmf pipe and i could make that look like it has 100 hp at the rear wheels you can do anything with a dyno computer....

Dude this thread is like 5 months old...

Nonetheless, I can't help myself. To the idiot who thinks the hrc kit makes 60 hp and the stock exhaust is more powerful than a full system, you are an absolute idiot and do not deserve to ride.

How could a muffler with a series of baffles incorporated into it produce more hp than a free flowing system??? My piped and jetted 06 made 39hp on the dyno and my bro's yfz with a rossier national engine ($3,600) made 49hp. You are a fool and have no clue what your talking about.

In your defense, please do all of us naive enthusiasts a favor and explain Honda's technique for creating a cam grind (which is "suprisingly" extremely similar to that of the CRF cam hint hint) produces more power with a more restrictive exhaust?

So let's go back to the question?

Which pipe is the best for a slip on a HRC kit? Using the HRC kit header pipe.

The HRC kit does wake up the 06 and the 07's better than the 04's and the 05's.
