rear shock set up

hey, i was wondering if anybody has put a 250r o.e.m rear shock on their blaster? i heard that they work and is a small mod but usefull. i was wondering what year you need to order in order for it to bolt up to my blaster? i just got done ordering one from an ATC 1986 250R. the auction is ending in 3 days so you're answeres would help me a lot.

I have heard that the year of 250r the shock comes off is very important. Older 250r shocks are 3 inches longer and will raise the rear end up really high. I'd check on what year works properly before I'd buy one.
