I have a set of PEP ZPS with stock a-arms and they are great. Everyone that goes for a ride on my 440 has one comment when they get off. The shocks are great. At the MX nationals most of the riders use them. Axis and Elka's are becoming more popular at the XC races.

I love my PEP's, they soak up so much. Very smooth ride. they really assist you when jumping too. if you come off a jump really crooked, you wont wreck because the shocks soak up the landing and it's easier to hold on and straiten out.

My friend has elka's and they are alright. i don't thing they are valved right though. they are way to soft.

Axis, Elka, PEP, or TCS will all work great for you. Any Shock is better then the Stockers.
