I'd run stocker rebuilds personally. They will be much better than an elka rec series shock with no adjustments.

yeah you might as well just stay with the stock shocks until you get enough cash to run GOOD aftermarkets, or you can get 450r shocks for awhile then you can get them revalved for when you get more money,

No 450r rebuilds...I would do rebuilt 450r because i have heard a lot of bad stuff about elka.

yea but between the at least 200 for the 450r shocks and around 4-500 for the rebuild its kinda out of my budjet(sp).

I was going to say this as well, but your budget would be blown going this route. You would be looking at about $600 by the time you get them re-built.

I WOULD NOT run the 450R front shocks WITHOUT getting them rebuilt that shortens the compressed length!

agreed.. its the best money spent at that level of expenditure.. you could get the stock 450's takeoffs for $150 to $250. im not sure what a "rebuild" would cost, but ebay has the "works spring kits" for them.. viola! fully adjustable, triple rate shocks for $500-$600..

if youve made your mind up on the elkas, then let us know what you think.

my breif experience with elkas was basically: better than stock ride, too stiff for trail riding, great service above all, but still sold them before the next summer.
