flat sLide has a.. well.. a flat slide in it rather than a round slide like a general atv carburetor has.

What does a flat side do?

In fairly simple terms, the flat slide has less air turbulence inside it. This give you better aiflow, which improves throttle response and power.

The actual mechanics of the air currents gets rather complicated, obviously, but that's the end result. Less turbulence, better.
