Looks cool, is it basically the thing where it makes a pic into a cartoon / sketch ?
Pappy
10-19-2007, 01:53 PM
sort of a cross between a photo and a sketch yes. in PS, they use High pass etc...but i dont have PS:p this was edited in lightroom
I might have these two printed on canvas

i think the lighting really helps make the shot....action will work if the right lighting is present

Thanks! They sure make it look easy.
You really need a good picture to start with - as you said, lighting seems to be key for this process.

oh well, fun is fun. ill read up more on this outside of just the simple editing and see what i can come up with. i also ordered a ring light that will help actually getting the lighting for the proper way to do all this:p

You keep raising the bar with your photography:cool: As much as I prefer the natural look these are pretty cool:)
Just wondering... with this program can you apply the effect to just part of a photo without cutting and pasting?
Pappy
10-20-2007, 07:11 PM
no, lightroom is basically just a digital darkroom and archiving application. it allows us to do with digital what a lab had to do with slides and film. film had a ton more latitude then digital does, so with digital , slight tweaks to light balance are usually required to bring out the best image possible. for anything beyond simple editing/cropping etc, you will need photoshop
should be fun learning some new stuff

Pappy I gotta say you take the most kick *** pictures. I don't know what it is about that JN pic, but damn does that look good!
I almost don't want to know, but what kind of camera do you use? haha I'm sure it was on the rather expensive side.

i have been playing with it, and for anyone that wants to try it, shot a backlit picture as that sems to work well. if you have lightroom, play with the sliders and tune in the effect you like. im not a big editing guy, but the end results i think look pretty cool...atleast different
I really liked this one, and someone pm'd me and said i should try having them put on a t-shirt....which would probably look killer
