The rule was that each rider had to dismount his/her quad when crossing the paved road section. The lap before the last lap, Bill said there were so many rocks on the road he lost his footing and, more or less, hung onto the handlebars while his feet were dragging to the side. On the last lap he decided it would be stupid to take a chance @ losing the race by maybe something worse happening, so he rode it across the road slower than what he could have jumped off and got it across. Was it the right thing to do? NO! Did he gain any time or positions in doing so? NO! But a rule is a rule and he was penalized for doing so. He was later upset w/ himself for his actions on trying to be safe but breaking the rules.

so why did they have a race course that crossed a road to begin with??

what if your stumpleg (from quad zone) that only has one leg? what if your tired and can't push your bike?

can someone explain this to me?

Load up on Viagra and use his middle leg.

I think it had to do with having room for parking. Not enough parking on the side of the road where the GNCC track is so they moved the parking to where the MX track is. Since it's a public road the local police didn't give them permission to ride across it. It's all good now.

well at lorretta's its all private property, the road is a private road. they cross it every year in two different spots for the gncc. all the road is, is a road that leads around her ranch. its paved though, luckly now we ride across it, but slower than race pace most of the time.;)

It is a public road, the first year that we had to cross it you had to walk next to your quad.
