My friend just brought his 01' 660 over for me to put a new clutch in. I was just looking over the bike and the airfilter has me confused. There is no filter, its just like a screen cone where the filter is suppose to be. He has only had the bike for a month and hasnt done anything to it. So i'm wondering if the previos owner is just weird and running without a filter or is this something for the raptor that people do.

If it only has a cone shaped piece there and no foam over it he has been running the quad without ANY filter.

Can he get his money back? That quad is a ticking time bomb at this point. Watch out! Shes gonna blow! Scary scary. I'd drain all the oil and flush it out good, then put a new filter on it.

I think its too late. It is making the worst noise ever. sometimes when at idle is sounds like some metal is grinding together.

OH SNAP :eek2:
That's pretty sucky
'Round these parts, a top end job goes for "about" 500 bucks. New piston, rings, valves, seats/machining, cam, chain, gaskets, etc etc etc...
Depending on what got munched, of course.
