05-07 plastic on an 01 ?

Yea... The headlight mounts. On a 01 you have no mounts on the frame. I have done this on my 400. Very easy mod... but the headlight is a pain. Also you will have a very ugly hole in the right side fender from no reverse. I fixed the headlight problem with zip strips and these little claps I found in my garage . This is a pretty expensive mod... The only reason I did it is because I took the fronts from a guy that trashed these and painted them black. To make a long story short I ended up race cutting , bead blasting , sanding and plastic renew. Made my 04 look like a 07.http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c11/Dobbe1/SD530443.jpg

that thing looks bad***** i got a deal on plastics off an 06 for 150.00 for plastics and headlight.

on ebay, yamaha of troy makes a conversion kit that has all the extra stuff you need to do the conversion. But the price for it is pricy because new plastics are always pricy

i had loked into that and i think i might just get the old style but new. i have just a bit to much damage on mine. as our old saying here "if you anit breakin it you aint ridin it"
