Im looking to build the motor on my 04 450r. I was thinking either a Sparks or Dasa but im only looking to spend under $1000. What would be a good motor build and what parts should i get?(i dont have enough $ for the full kit so i would get the parts sepratly) thanks

your not going to get a full race motor out of 1000. i wouldnt send it to sparks or dasa, to big and expensive, send it to a smaller builder, and they can do just as good or better of a job, but if i had a grand to spend i would get a hi compression piston(your choice depending on the type of gas), a port and polish, and maybe some carb mods,

yeah that too. you can drop in a hotrods +3mm stroker, just as a option, then you have a 470. and for the port and polish, i would send it to chad, are you willing to run race gas?

I would only run an OEM Honda crank, unless you can afford a Falicon super crank. No one I know has ever had good luck with hotrods cranks. My buddy just recently put a stock stroke hotrods in his 05 450R bottom end. Didn't make it three races before the bearing provided with the crank went out. Metal shavings all in the bottom end again... Just my opinion, but I wouldn't waste my time/energy/money with hotrods cranks.

Hey pro-rider,... thank you for your support. I really do appreciate it.

Just to talk about the Hot Rod Stroker Crank,.... my piston and my porting combo with my Web cam choice and oversized valves make this a sick,.. ummmm,. deadly combination.... :macho

If you want a good engine builder, send Toby Reed an email at www.moto-xperts.com. He is newer to the industry and really turning heads with his work.
