Ok, I have a friend of mine that is selling me a whole lot of his yfz 450 stuff for DIRT CHEAP and after i get it all ill need is a frame and sub frame. Now is all the parts interchangeable through out the years? If not, what can interchange as I plan on putting a few aftermarket things on it but i dont want to buy the wrong year stuff. I think most of the stuff im getting from him is around 06 stuff, maybe some 05. I know the motor and carb is from an 05.

Well yamaha has not really changed much frame wise the only things I know that are different is the 06-07 uses a round housing swingarm similar to honda. The 06-07 have larger tie rod end shafts so the 04-05 tie rods will not interchange with 06-07 tie rod ends. The rear brake caliper is a larger better caliper on the 06-07 as well. Steering stem on the 06-07 is 13/16" longer then the 04-05 and the 07 uses 1 1/8" bars instead of 7/8" bars

thanks, the bar mounts is no problem as im going to go with an aftermarket stem and oversized clamps regardless and an aftermarket swingarm, bearing carrier and axle, and if money allows, aftermarket a-arms. But really thanks for that info. Its going to be put to great use :D
