exhaust gasket?

does the 300ex use any type of gasket where the head pipe goes in the head? im thinking about replacing my exhaust with aftermarket and wanted to know before i get it apart.

i know my motorcycle uses copper crush washers so i thought these might be the same. thanks in advance-

thats correct it is a copper crush washer. i think its like $5 at the most at the dealer.

kewl thanks:) i never see it mentioned on pipe replacement threads, is it always necessary to replace it or is it possible to be re-used? ill pick one up either way.

Sometimes you can get away with re-using the gasket but more often than not it will leak. It really should be replaced any time you remove/change pipes.
