What do I need to do If I'm going to race MX do I register to the AMA or ATVA and how?

It depends on who is putting the race on. At some of the smaller races, you don't need to be a member. But at most races you do.

Sometimes promoters will allow you to sign up at the race. If you don't know if they will or not, look up the ATVA website on google and register there.

just show up at the track on friday to register with the ATVA and sign up for the race/practice

check the rules first and make sure you have all the needed equipment before you show up. i know you can only be 50 inches wide, need nerfs, a kill switch... i'm sure there is some other stuff
