whats everyones training plans for the off-season. Mine consists of 7 days a week training. Monday-Friday, 2-4 mile runs, lifting, and mixing it in with intense cardio workouts (85-90%BPM). Try to ride 2 times during the week, and once or twice on the weekends. Im trying to see if we can go down to FL for a week or so when it gets cold here to train all week long, that would be awsome! I will keep this up all winter long and hope to be a national champion next year!:) Whats all of your guys' plans?

i totally agree with your workout.

another thing that i do, that sounds stupid, but if the wheeler isnt getting rebuilt, i take it out a few times during the winter, after warmed up, and just ride around for a little bit, just to keep me used to the gears and handling and such, i think that if you can practice snow drifting, you will get a feeling of of control and it will hrlp your riding. just my input.

Trying to get in the gym atleast 3 times a week but work and other things are keeping me from that right now. Later on im going down to Florida and Texas when it gets cold, and Ill be riding down there. Also NEMX.

I Joined a Gym 3 days ago, ive been going everyday and i love it, so addicting, i plan on going 4-5 days a week during the winter, i use that olipitcal machine thing, kind of like running, kind of like riding a bike, ill do like 2 miles on that then a few miles on the bike, and a little lifting, not much im more concerned about loosing weight then gaining muscle

There is a lot of information useful on the internet too....if you do some looking around!! At one time, I found something from Ricky C and his workout.....it helped me base mine.

Hey Jordan, where in FL are you planning to come ride?

There arent to many tracks around me...Gatorback in Gainesville, and a place called Fastrac MX Ranch in Cairo GA, ita bout 35 miles north of FL.

And as far as your schedule goes, it sounds great. But over the course of the winter, try to add more distance to your runs.

I run cross country at school and we run 5 miles a day, with 5x400m sprints at the end of our 5 mile runs.

On wednesdays though, we run 10 miles, and have a 200m sprint at the end of it. It will show you a whole new world of tired buddy.

Also, try and get in as much riding as you can, to keep you familiar with your quad. When you get down here, expect highs in the 50's and lows in the teens:)

for off season i have a list of weght lifting stuff and other exercises and once im done with that i do cardio. my neiborhood is really long and hilly so i ride two laps on my mountain bike, run one lap around, and then jump rope off and on for like ten minutes. seems to work pretty well

also i dont know if you have to be 18 or not but try to get a stocking job where your moving some things of weight around. just for that added training. ive been moving tv's washers dryers tool chests etc. around all day along with the last couple days of throwing boxes of clothes and such around all day. may not be the best routine but it will let you train alittle bit while you earn some money for racing next year

...jus come on up to Breezewood! lol, but really, it's gonna be a beautiful day for riding there tomorrow. We are leaving prolly like 530 or so tomorrow mornin.

And, I have been either riding bike about 10 miles or running about 2 miles or both every school day evening. So far, I can tell it made a huge difference, but I still have a long way to go. And, during the winter, I will be lifting.

As promised, for those of you who care...

I ran a 20:51 in the 5k (3.2 miles) and placed 65th out of well over 200 people. I think I did decently. I was 39 seconds faster than required to get a varsity letter and spot. :eek2:

If I ever start a riding school I will make sure I use you as my spokesperson. lol I remember a couple years ago part of the mafia was over here for about a month straight in the winter. Depending on the weather sometimes over here is the only option. I think Duponster is coming over this weekend some of your guys should come over also.
