I was cleaning my filthy k & n today because my EX didnt quite feel powerful enough today to find a dead mouse & a pretty good size nest he was trying to clog my filter with ( small hole at back of box ) this thing doesnt sit ,anyway I ran out of K&n filter cleaner but have plenty of oil what cleaner would not be too harsh on the filter without buying their stuff

I've had pretty good luck with ordinary dish soap, or (because it is cotton) use a laundry detergent like Tide.
You don't want to use any strong solvent like gasoline, kerosene, or acetone, because they can cause damage to the glue that holds the wire frame to the rubber ends.
