I'm guessing that the oil is completely drained when putting in a new piston and cam,,is this correct???

Not really necessary on a top end rebuild...

I'd definitely change it afterward though.

OH I will,,,I just ordered 5 oil filter's yesterday and I think I'm gonna stop and get some oil today on my way home,,,gettin eager ta tear the motor down,,,but there' still some good riden left in the season,,don't really wanna wait till winter,,but I guess I'll see,,patiance does pay off..
