i think it's should be the same in your area!

you should check for some 3:2!

4:1's are not discontinuted, they are one of the most popular MX wheels. You cant get red labels or standard wheels in 4:1 offsets, only rolled lip and beadlocks for strength reasons. Even with 4:1's and +3's you will have a tough time fitting under 50"s wide.

Suspension also plays a role, did you measure this with you sitting on the quad? Also what is your camber set at, that too plays a role.

Wait for someone else to chime in and verify this, but I believe that Douglas ultimate 4/1's are really more like 3.5/1.5's. I believe the only true 4/1 is the Douglas Shamrock beadlocks.

tons of mx'ers use these. alot of pros run them, too. and yes they are really strong

Yes they're stronger than say a standard .190 rim, but they are still aluminum and they will bend... Pros can get new ones every race if they have to. Hipers are the way to go IMO.

ive never seen anyone bend a douglas rolled lip front, but ive seen atleast 3 sets of front hipers crack, and even more rear ones shatter.

I hardly see straight aluminum rims anymore, some are bent minor enough that most people never notice, but they are metal and once they stress beyond yielding point they bend and stay that way, where a hiper would just flex, eventually breaking. I've only seen a picture of one broken hiper and it was the old design front wheel, and I saw it on here, never seen one in real life ever, and most who say they have seen them have no proof. Do you have any pictures of them? Not saying you didn't see it, but I would love to see some pics of broken hipers. Also if you break a hiper you can just replace that one section that is broke, instead of replacing an entire wheel like a douglas or ITP.
