if you just want more gas, there was an article on quadmagazine.com that said you can heat up a stock tank and preasurize it so it holds more. you run into a problem witrh ltz/kfxs tho, the plastic that goes over the tank might not fit.

btw i got this pic of there web site.

well from looking at that picture it looks like the top plastic peice where the gas lid is, looks to be the only part it bothers with and it looks as simple as taking that piece out.

well i was looking at some of the other bikes and you can see the whole tank, I didnt know if the ltz 400 was like that or not.

i have the ims tank and it fits good. you lose the tank cover. it holds 4 gallons. it does not look bad either. they make them in natural (white) or black.
check out ebay for lower prices. i picked mine up brand new for $160. it is definitely worth the price. i get nearly twice the range with it.

i don't have a close up pic right now. my camera cord has come up missing. but the ims web site pretty much sums it up.

I HAVE A USED IMS TANK, IT USES THE DRY BRAKE SET UP (QUICK FILL). THE IMS TANKS FIT GREAT & THE FRONT FENDERS COVER THE SIDES OF THE TANK, YOU JUST NEED TO REMOVE THE UPPER TANK COVER. :D
