2 Questions

I am on the verge of getting a 450r but want to make sure it’s a good move for me. I currently have a 400ex with a slip on pipe but feel I need more power. But I want to justify that there will a big enough increase to justify the new purchase. I live in AZ and ride the desert a lot (with good hill climbs) and run the dunes in Glamis. Will a 450r be a noticeable jump in performance and speed?

Second question is a local dealer has a good deal on a 2007 with full Sparks exhaust pre- installed. But in reading the forums on the 450 everyone says to also get the HRC kit. It sounds good to me but in the kit you get exhaust items and a cam. Well with the Sparks full system should I still get the HRC kit or just get a cam installed?

Thanks in advance…….
:)

I would say it would be a great improvement over the 400 by far. I personally haven't rode in the dunes with mine, I would imagine it would be SWEET!!! You would probably want to get an aftermarket CDI box since the desert is so wide open. You wil deff. notice a difference in jumping perfoemance and power preformance! I'd definately soy go for it!!! Let us know what you decide. Red

I ride 400's with the same setup you have plus some, and they aren't close to my 450r. Mine is an 04' so you can imagine what the 07' will be like!

i would just get a cam installed. the cam you can get of ebay for like 125 bones. it wont be the hrc cam, but the hotcams are a great choice, stock replacement, no other mods needed. why pay an extra 100+ bucks. and good luck with your hopefully soon purchase,

Just getting a CAM was what I was hoping for. What would be a good cam to get, I'm new to the after market cam thing.

I just did not want to buy the HRC kit if I only needed a few parts.
