Round #12....9 months into the season if you can believe that! At round one, Traci cecco was looking ahead to do her best to clinch another Womens class championship and standing in the chilly ohio morning air, she could look back on 11 rounds of racing and that championship she sought was securely hers!

Last season it was the parton Cecco show as the dou battled each other at every round. This season saw Parton barely able to keep her competition in sight, but all that will change in the off season as she will be preparing a new ride for 2008. I for one look forward to now having atleast 3 riders in the class that can go bar to bar for the entire season! It will be my pleasure to get reporting as parton gets back in the thick of things.

Mike Penland makes sure he can get a drink before gearing up for the race. With the dust that would be waiting these riders, a camelback would be a godsend if you could get a chance to rinse that Ohio powder out of your mouth!

The well known powerline track was ready for action as the riders assembled for the start. A portion of the course was removed to spare the morning class the big mudholes that would greet the afternoon race.

4x4 Open is a sea of yellow, as the Can Am models are the weapon of choice. Rick Cecco could clinch the class championship this orund if he could get finish ahead of fellow Can Am mounted Bryan Buckhannon

I finally figured how they advance c classes....

c 16-21
c 26+
c 36 +

I thought it was based on age, but i was informed it is based on the number of crashes..LOL

My son, Cody Hill #776 , swings wide on the advice of a fellow racer through turn two.

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:33 AM
Going wide worked well as he shot past alot of riders before heading into turn 3!

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:44 AM
After the start, a large crowd headed into the woods, so i figured they must know of a good spot....WRONG:p I spent teh first lap along with about 80 other people watching a section of marked track that was for the afternoon race and missed taking any shots during teh first lap:ermm:

With teh dust destroying the bottoms and ravines, and shooting in the fields flat out boring, i headed off to find a spot where the wind would lend me a hand and keep the dust cleared out for some woods shots

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:46 AM
Now I was in my element, in the middle of nowhere and not knowing a damn thing:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:47 AM

Pappy

I was thinking of who might be leading or if my son was still in the same county as it was so dusty that one could end up on the highway with ease:p

Pappy

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:51 AM
Traci and Angel did come through in that order, but it was so dusty that i just covered up as they went through with a train of lappers.

My son did come chugging past me:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:54 AM
Stephanie Parton worked her way through the woods and went on to finish 6th in the Womens class

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:55 AM
I tried to yell in support for Rick Cecco when he rode past, but my mouth was so dry and filled with dust that i should have just blowed dust rings:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:57 AM
Cecco was ahead of Buckhannon and it looked like it would remain that way as long as Rick rode smart

Pappy
10-15-2007, 11:59 AM
Even in an area that was less dusty, the big UTE's kicked it up no matter how fast or slow they were going:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:05 PM
The mudholes that were on the track had a few riders coated in goo that soon got a nice powder finish of dust:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:12 PM
Riders were really getting spread out as one or two started coming through at a time

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:13 PM
A large stump catches this rider by surprise and he almost went over the bars

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:14 PM
Nearing the end of teh race, it was easy to see who still had some energy left:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:15 PM
This is why I keep a tree between me and the rider:p

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:16 PM
Damage was evident on many quads

Pappy
10-15-2007, 12:17 PM

16-19C Class rider Josh Konecheck took the 3rd podium spot! That was a great ride for him and teh second race in a row where we have seen a rider from this class on the podium.

Traci Cecco was your runner up for this event. Look for her to be a ball of fire next season!

Before I open the thread up, I want to thank everyone for being so helpful this season. We started out in Florida with no intentions of running the season and only covering a few rounds. That lasted about 1/2 way through the first lap and cody wanted to try one more season on the mini quads. that worked decent until he broke his elbow at Big Buck. A broken tail bone just before Somerset had us figuring our fun was over for the year, but he healed up pretty good and with a week of seat time was back in action in the morning class aboard his new Raptor 250. he did well i think for having been off since august, taking 13th in his class of 27 and 244 out of 380 overall. Good ride Codeman!

For everyone else, we will see many of you at locals during the off season as we will not be making the long trek to Indiana. It has been an up and down race season for us, but a championship for us as a family! We met so many great people that next year is already being planned!

Have a safe race at round #13 and we will be seeing you all again soon!!!
