I found out today that the new cobra prices went up....extra 100 for shipping which brings it to 350.00 now and 150.00 extra for white and extra 400.00 on the bikes....just an FYI out there for those of you planning on buying 08 its going to cost us a bit more this year....puts a 50 at around 7000ish depending on the dealer and local taxes......puts a 70 around 8200ish and in my opinion if your gonna build a 90 you might as well buy a used mod bike....its too bad...alot of people complained already about the price....The upside is it makes our used bikes for sale look more attractive!

this is without the dealer making anything...which the dealers by us literally make 200.00 on the bike and hope to sell parts...I don't know how long this can continue? Its kinda like race fuel has become...its almost a service provided by the dealer and they hope not to lose any money doing it...Its really a shame...these are nice bikes...sammy learned so much the past three years on them...its such a nice little chasis for a smaller kid...we are moving on to the mod bikes unless we don't sell our 07 we ran this year...then he could run it again....I think it will sell several people are interested...

I do have an extra set of JB suspension for sale if anyone is looking...brand new in the box...had it for spares...alot of other parts still available...920-470-4611...Matt Rowe

Matt,

Prices did go up a little for the 2008 season. This is the first price increase that Cobra has had since they were introduced in 2005. Shipping will cost you extra also. (fuel surcharges have went up for most delivery places).

Here is the suggested retail prices:

2008 ECX70 $8198.00 2007 $7988.00
2008 ECX50 $ 6998.00 2007 $6488.00

Depending on the dealer they can tack on to retail extra stuff like shipping, set up fee, and taxes. But I don't think most dealers charge the full retail price.

When we bought our 2005 we gave $7995.00 plus $250.00 shipping, and a $90.00 set up fee for a grand total of $8335.00. (the bike was delivered to us so the dealer did not even touch it)
The bikes were brand new at that time and the dealers were charging full retail. Since they have been in production for a couple of years now, you can shop around and get a better deal then we did in 05.

The white plastic did cost extra in the 2007 season as well for the ones who elected to by it.

I am not to crazy about the price increase either, but I understand that a company has to increase their prices at some point. Price of alum. and steel have increased in the past 2 years making the cost of the quad higher to build. I am sure there are other parts as well that have increased.

Cobra is a great company that stands behind their products. The customer service is great. The initial shock of spending $8000.00 at one time is overwhelming. But, most of the people who own them will tell you they do not regret it. We don't (even thou we paid ALOT for our 05). It was worth every dime.

The bottom line is shop around get prices on these quads. If you find a better deal on one then your dealer is asking, tell them. I am sure they will try and do what they can to keep the price down as low as they can.
