Hard welded rockers

What are hard welded rockers?:confused:

Pretty sure it's when they add material to your rockers
by making passes with a welder. then they must grind
them to specifications. They also get tempered either
while welding or maybe after.
Hopefully someone else can either correct or varify this.

I hear in stock form they will fail with a high lift/duration cam.
Still hopeing someone can conferm and/or correct my info.

I'm not sure what makes them "hardfaced" but I bought a set because they were recommended by my engine builder with an aftermarket cam. I thought of them as insurance. ? ? ?

Where did you get the Rockers and how much did they cost.

Definitely pay the money. Web welds the cams and re-grinds them which make them harder than the rockers. I didn't buy the rockers (they weren't recommended at that time) and a year later, the cam wore the rockers and then they wore the cam. I had to buy a new cam and the rockers. This happened to my buddy also on the same application. Were talking 25 - 50 hours. They are a must.

I'm not sure about hard faced rockers but harden rockers are heated and than cooled down slowly. This is suppose to realign the molicules to make them stronger and less pron to wear. I don't know if hard faced and harden rockers are the same but thats what harden rockers are.
