View Full Version : how do i soften the rear shock on a 400ex

does anyone know. its pretty stiff right now i weigh 135.

there is a screw on the side of the resevoir on the top of the shock. That is the compression. Turn it with a screwdriver towards the - sign. And also at the bottom of the shock, is your rebound adjustment.

Its that adjuster on the top...

Look on the left side of the quad(same side shifetr is on) Ok look at the shock,then look at the Shock Rezzy,that big lump on the front fo the shock,you'll see a S and a H,and just turn it up for soft,and down for hard(i think)

i tried that but it didnt really help. ill try it monday. this brings me to another question. when i get my elkas(ssd) how can i getmy rear to sit lower so it doesnt look like a frog about to jump.

well its a stock shock, the adjustments prob. wont make a noticeable differance.

Loosen the set screws and turn the nut on top of the shock up to lower your rear ride height. ;) I did it on mine and it made it handle alot better. :D

ok thx everyone for the help i didnt get to try it today guess itll have to wait till tuesday:D
