did tc every make a 368cc 45 horsepower monster 250x, will the gears even handle that power?

thats a lot of power for a stock based 250x head even with bigger valves.Im not saying it was never done but that motor had to be built to the hilt and running on edge.I would like to know more if possible.

Tranny probably would handle it. The 300ex/250x has a hella stout tranny.

368 isn't unreasonable or super rare. That's just an 82mm piston w/ the standard stroker crank (+4.5mm on 300ex, +12.7mm on the 250x).

46hp? Not likley. Sounds like a trinity dyno run, lol. 40hp would be pushing the envelope w/ high compression and oxygenated race fuel.

The design of the head (side plug, vale angles, etc..) and resulting physics/flow really inhibits the 250x/300ex's top end potential.

i would say this is beleivable. Tc is known back in the day for the 250x's. He can do some serious work on those heads. I say that is is a decently reasonable number i wouldnt expect no much more, and im sure that motor was not built for reliablity. Also are you sure your not talking about the 250x 6 speed dual lectron carb setup that he did for travis spader many years ago.... that was one badddd motor and i would have to say would be very capable of making that power he put lots of r@d into that motor.

nahh...i would have to see it for myself. The stock 450f mx bikes make 47hp and up and they have huge valves and short stroke, for top end. Those numbers would be impressive for just about anything as far as numbers go.But with a old design head and 368cc...i dunno.....

it would be close i would say, and i really think it is the motor that travis spader rode with, if you have ever seen it, it was one tricked out peice of art. I would say that it would be the one if any 250x motor that would be able to reach that power.

i have seen pics of the Spader 250x motor with the dual carbs, that still doesnt make it a rocket. The early 80s honda xrs had dual carbs,it didnt make them fast:D

i believe the dual carb motor was raced in the 250 fourstroke class.

if you go to cycle pro you can put a 350x tranny in a 250x motor thats what i have and it is a stroker
