250r question, need help! [Archive]

ok got the quad about 2 weeks ago. 86 250r. It seems kinda of sluggish at lowend. it's like you have to hit the gas a couple of times at lowend and it will kickend. Topend seems to run pretty good. The plug reads like it's running fairly rich. But once you seem to hit 1/4 throttle up it seems to run ok. It has a stock carb. it has a pro circuit pipe and no air box lid. The carb is set at:
airmix screw out 1 1/2turns
45 pilot
168 main
needle on top clip ( leanest setting)
any help appreciated

You have too large of main jet. Move the needle to the middle notch and use a 158 main jet. Throw in a new plug gapped at .020" and it should rip!
