i bought a 2004 yz 450f dirt bike and this is the only place i could ask questions about the motor

here it goes...

it is completely stock except a fly wheel weight

what kinda maintence needs done when and what products do you use and how often do you do maintence. please help me


does any one have an owner manuel they can email me???

also what are the problrms i keep hearin about these 04, 05 needing oil mods. what does that entail, is it needed ,cost .i neeed to know it all.:D

its just like a car...oil and all the good inspections and if u have never rode then that bike is goin to kick ur ***....

Not positive but I think dirtbike has oil mod built in.

I'm not sure either. I would check out a dirtbike forum to be 100% sure on that. If they don't have the oil upgrade then I would look into getting that done sometime in your engine's lifetime.

As for maintenance, oil changes, change oil filter, clean and oil air filter, put gas in it, change spark plug (very rarely in 4-strokes), change jetting whenever mods are added/taken away and the temperature or altitude changes. With a bike you eventually will replace fork seals, wheel bearings, etc. as you ride it more and more. Pick up a manual and learn as you go along.

buy a clymer manual and it will show u how to do everything best 30 bucks i ever spent
