There is a company called Goki (http://gokimfg.com) that makes electric start conversions. They had kits for the 200s and 350X 3-wheelers, and also made a kit to convert the early model 450r to electric start.

However, they do not have a kit for the 250r.

even if you could do it, where would you put the battery, and starter?

It could most certainly be done. Off-road.com did an article a couple years ago on the 450r conversion (remember the first 450r models were kick-only). article (http://atv.off-road.com/atv/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=257280)

The method would be similar, some sort of modification to the flywheel to put a gear on it, and mount the starter motor to the cover. They battery would most likely mount similar to the 400EX and 300EX.

The method is fairly simple, but it would require you to tool up a new side cover.

I know it sounds dull to ask that question, but I have a 250R I use to practice enduro but It has a 70mm piston so its harder to start than the standard piston especially when you are allready tired and the bike is on an unconfortable position.
Do you think a dynatek might help to start ot easier?

What do you mean by "harder to start"? Is it difficult to kick over, or does it just not want to start on the first couple kicks?

with the original piston it started with the first kick. with this bigger one I had to get to know the exact point were it starts, at first the kick felt hard, now I do it right but it starts at the third or forth kick when cold. I suppose its because it has more compression.

do you? I don't... and I came in here for information on how it could possibly be done. Regardless of how much work would need to be done or customizing to get it done I find it interesting..

Why did you come into this thread?

Nice, you knew the answer but still threw out a roll eyes to the guy because there was other threads on the subject, and you wouldnt do it..

I would of said "yeah it can be done" or "heres the link to the thread where its been discussed"

But I guess no kit, and a rolleyes helped just as much..

I just thought why with so many companies out there, no one has done that.
best regards to all.

With enough money you can make anything work. If a guy can build an adapter to run a supercharger off the flywheel I'm sure a guy could adapt a starter to one.

But is it worth the time and cost for electric start, probably not. A supercharger on the other hand...........
