hey guys i have a 2001 300ex is there any little ajustments i can make to make it faster?:confused:

change your sprockets. change your filter and rejet it, new full exhaust, the stock head pipe is very restrictive. that is if you want to spend out some money, it not just changing the sprockets can give u better take off.

Aye, all depends on the money you want to spend.

A full-system pipe, filter, and rejet will give you a great improvement. After that perhaps a cam & rev limit increase. But then you want to start working on suspension.

I agree with Bwamos,i would take a set of shocks over a pipe any day.You wouldnt believe how much better the ride is with some suspension.You'll be able to go faster without bouncing off of trees and fighting the bike.In all honesty a good running stock 300ex has enough power to tackle any trail condition..within reason.More power is always funner though:D If you insist get a filter and a slipon and rejet for starters.

thanks guys i really want an exhaust does any one have ony and ive been looking in to a cobra alumimum series what are you guys oppions on that?

the cobra pipe is like someone already said, VERY LOUD, it is not a well tuned loud sound, it sounds like crap. the pipe is also cheaply built, while you will have an increase over the stock pipe the cobra is just not a quality pipe. from personal experience, i flipped a 300 with a cobra pipe, dented the whole back end of pipe, no other damage to the bike. i rolled another 300, with a fmf megamax at 45-50mph, bent up the bike pretty bad, destroyed the grab bar, no damage to the pipe at all.

yea, way to much money, for what it sounds like he is doing(casual riding) anyway, to redrider-no we sold the megamax and upgraded to an hmf sport a while ago, but trust on the fmf, they are a proven line of mufflers, i have had fmf 2 stroke pipes which i had great results with, and i have had a powercore 4 on my ttr dirt bike with great results, the megamax was discontinued i believe but it was also a great pipe.

Its only money. Get a HMF. Its worth it even for "casual" riding. I have the slip on on a 2002 300, next year I will convert to a full system. Hmf will convert your old pipe.

This is your baby so spend some money on it...

as far as a pipe look for an old supertrapp shorty.

Low quality? As in performance or breaks easy? Because i blow right by my sisters 300 and my neighbors 300 both use stock exhausts obviously but i fly by them. Also, if its they break easy... well mine has gone through hell and back and its still perfectly fine. In my opinion the FMF sounds great and give pretty good performance for the cash put into it.
