i just bought a 05 yfz yesterday and i was wondering how long does it take until the fan kicks on i havent got to ride it alot in the past day but i rode it around the yard a little bit and it didnt kick on and also when i checked the oil it started comming out the top of the oil tank so i thought i would drain some out and i did and after about 10min of running it was doing the same thing so if anyone can help it will be greatly appricated thanks

the fan not coming on is a good thing (usually)... it only kicks in at a certain temperature, and mine has only kicked on a handfull of times...

now if its not kicking on when the bike is getting hot (im not talking operatiing temperature) then you have a problem...

as for the oil, it sounds as if it has been over-filled...

drain the oil- and put .3L in the case, and 1.5 L in the resovoir... that should solve youre problem, or at least tell you if you have a problem besides having too much oil in your bike...

ya not to be mean but you have the motor off when checking the oil right.

drain out all of the oil and change filler just for kicks wont hurt anything

if i remember right .3 of a quart in the case and 1.7 quarts in the oil tank

check your vent lines too
