What are the best shocks that you can get for a 250ex? How do you like them? How much? Pics if you can please.

As far as I know works and elka are the only 2 that make aftermarket shocks for the 250ex. The elkas are the better of the 2 IMO but it would be hard to justify the price on a 250ex. I haven't tried either of them on the 250ex but I have had both on my 300ex and honestly for the price the works weren't bad for the weekend warrior and much easier on the wallet. I still have a hard time justifying the elkas on my 300ex...:ermm:

Works start around $340 for the fronts where the elkas start around $450...big price difference on a quad that in the end will have a fairly low retail value.

Basically what I'm saying is save your money and go for the works shocks. The 250ex really can't be ridden too far beyond what the works can handle and higher dollar shocks like elkas really aren't necessary.

300exOH is right, the only after market shocks I have seen for the 250 are Elkas and Works.
The fronts are expensive for either, but the rear is outrageous expensive ($550-750 for one shock!) for the weekend rider.

The elkas look sick! Do you have the back one to? How much and where did you get them from?

All this stuff is in the FAQ.

The A-arms available are NOT long-travel a-arms. To get longer travel you would have to make custom upper shock mounts.

ASR and Herrmann Racing both make +2 a-arms.

I don't want to sound like a paid endorsement, but..
The Diamond J shock conversion kit (upper shock mounts only) will allow you to put longer shocks (400ex, 450r, etc) on the 250 You must use wider a-arms (or their widening kit) they DO NOT work with the stock a-arms.
For example, stock front shock travel is 5.9", the 400ex shock is 8.2" For me that made a world of difference on trails as well as jumps.
