well, one more company just spanked honda. kawasaki is releasing a v-twin 700 with all the goodies. the only two downfalls are it is automatic and around 500lbs, but its supposed to smoke anything out there. lata

Ya, it has a utility motor in it. I doubt it will smoke anything execpt maybe in a straight away. The thing is as big as a dump truck (exagerating). I doubt it will be a high seller like the z400s, 400exs, raptors, c-dales, etc.

but scramblers are automatics and weigh around 500 punds but they are chain driven. I like polaris and think the 4, and 500 scramblers are highly underrated. but JMO

I don't know the thing looks like a piece of chit. I think they would be lucky to sell 10 of them.

its all about the power to weight ratio, so a 700 v-twin in a 500lb bike, plus its an auto...its probably as fast as a raptor, if its lucky. but its not going to be a great drag bike anyhow. it's an auto for christ sakes hehe. that robs power pretty bad. so i'm sure most people on like raptors zs and maybe 400s depending on the rider will smoke these.

Kawasaki has gone to sheet.
Ever since they stop making the tecates they went down hill.
As for the kfx:o The 400 is crap cause its like 99% the same as theZ400. I find both kfx really ugly and i would never buy any of them. The 400 looks so stupid its a sin.
Like wtf were kawy thinking of. A 4x4 that is a sport bike?
Come on. What is next a utility dirt bike with racks?

Kawasucky needs to come back with a 2 stroke.
**** bring the tecate back :)

The whole scoop is in this months Dirt Wheels. I drove a Prairie650 over the weekend (same motor bored out and weigh 100 lbs more), it hauled butt pretty good.

700 cc ,belt primary, vtwin, shaft drive, tall and heavy as a building, sounds more like a cross between a cruiser street bike and a snowmobile, a real threat on a race track I don't think so.even with the green craptor style plastic it is still a two wheel drive utility quad in disguise, the thing is laughable just my opionion.

The new KFX 700 V FORCE is powered by a liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin four-stroke engine mated to a performance-tuned Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System. It features a racing-type chassis, dual A-arm front suspension, dual front disc brakes, rear swingarm suspension with shaft drive and Kawasaki's exclusive sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc brake system. And it's all wrapped in traditional Lime Green or all-new Blazing Orange.

The rules on sport ATVs are about to be rewritten.

- The industry's first V-twin high-performance sport ATV

- High-performance V-Twin engine based on the industry-leading Prairie 650, but with increased displacement and high-performance tuning

- Modified, performance-tuned Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System

- Shaft final drive incorporating Kawasaki's exclusive sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system

- Racing-type chassis with dual A-arm front suspension and linkless, lay-down-type rear suspension with gas charged shock

- High-performance dual-piston front disc brakes

- Quick action handle-bar mounted drive selector (on left side handle bar)

- Aluminum alloy rims with ITP Hole-Shot tires

- Availability: 1st Quarter 2003

Some of you guys are unbelievably NARROW-MINDED. Just becasue YOU personally wouldn't buy this quad doesn't mean there aren't a lot of people who will buy it.

There are a lot of people that want a big, fast and easy to ride quad. Just because most of you guys are MXers or of school age doesn't mean everybody else is that way.

I say kudos to Kawi for coming up with this. And you watch - it will completely smoke any 400ex with ease; imagine if you start modding the engine and clutch - there's a lot of potential there.

I don't personally care for an auto clutch or shaft drive but a lot of people like that. Besides, some of the fastest machines I have ever seen were auto clutches - usually snowmobile engines in quad frames. No shifting and always in the powerband is a GOOD thing for drag racing.

So, laugh now but when you are eating roost from one of these things you probably won't be laughing so hard.

I don't know what it is about all these companies trying to make these 4-wheelers with such huge engines! They weigh way too much and its an automatic. Just think about getting stuck. My 375lb 400ex is hard enough to pull out by myself let alone a 500+ pound monster. and why do you need to go so darn fast anyway. When I have my 400ex wide open on dirt mountain roads its scary enough. And since it weighs 500lbs, i'd love to see it jump.

In my opinion, it was a waste of research and developement cuz their not gunna sell 5 of em!:grr

Its will probly be great in the utlity class for gncc racing. there is a market for this thing. I thinks it crap though. It woundn't be a big hot seller like the kfx and z400. though.

The thing get blowen away in Mx racing or where handling and jumping mater.

Personally i wouldn't buy it , but i mean , we said the same thing when the 250ex came out......
And they seem to be selling pretty damn good.

I bet it will be fast as ever though. The Scramblers arent too slow, and they are only 400 and 500's. Just because it is an automatic doesnt mean it can't be fast....That is all in the clutching that they apply to it. I personally wouldn't but it. But everyone bags on something they have never ridden or ever seen in person for that matter.

It makes no sense to me either..

I'm sure if Honda were to release details on a new sport quad tomorrow allot of people here would be calling it the best thing since sliced bread without ever seeing one.

They should be given a chance to prove themselves before they are put down  :grr

Ugh I think you people are jumping the gun here. A you haven't ridden, B if you have ever seen the prairie 650 perform you may shut your traps. I have personally ridden the Prairie and seen it perform against other sport quads in many types of terrains and situations. The praired can smoke anything in a 800 foot drag race hands down except a banshee and the new 400's, but raptors and 400 ex's can't handle it. The damn utility handles like a sport quad.

Now they have upped the power and size put in a sport chasis and reduced the weight. All I have to say is a lot of people are probably going to be eating their words. Anybody who has any experience with the Prairie 650 can back me up here.

I'd say this quad would do a stright line pretty good, but wouldn't do much on a MX track, because of it's weight.

It will probably sell good, and could be quite fast with some clutch mods, but I wouldn't buy one.

That weight scares me a whole lot, and it looks like a utility.

Just my opinion though.

I'd say it's a pretty good quad, they're just marketing it to the wrong people.

i think the v force is going to be stupid

and i never lost to a 650 there not that fast you must have seen a horrible rider or soemthing , or his or her tires were bald cause there is no way to loose if i can beat a 650

i know a raptor can smoke it
z walk away from me so i thinking there going to be the 650 also,

i hoping that its fas ter than everuthing out their casue you knwo it is a 700

most of you guys may have seen pics of my 250r, so you know what i ride. i looked at a v-force the other day.i noticed a few things.

1 it is not as big as it looks in pics. its the same size as a kfx/z400, just heavier.

2 it looks VERY well designed

3 user controls look easy to use, and to me, thats a good thing.

4 i mostly ride wooded trails. i am SERIOUSLY debating buying either a kfx700 or a grizzly. i am leaning towards the kfx.

while i would not sell my 250r to buy it, i would like to have one to ride fast trails COMFORTABLY, and keep my R for the track.

give this quad a chance, it has great potential.

and whoever said honda guys are gonna eat their words, i agree!
