its pretty simple really make sure all the bolts are off of the engine and make sure the front engine mounts are off and the left side of the motor there is a engine mount that holds it take that one off also then when you get them off you lift the engine forward and tilt it to the left the engine should come out the right side hopefully i explained this so you can understand if you need any help just ask me again i will try to get a pic to show you

Are you boreing the cylinder or the cases?
Just thought I'd ask, because you don't have to remove the motor to bore the cylinder.

you really need a manual for this but all i can say is keep trying to wiggle it around so the head will get around so it will clear the frame

You can take the head and jug off without removeing the motor from the frame. It will come up right through the top of the frame. Taking the motor out just to rebuild the top end is a lot of wasted time and work. If your taking the motor to a shop and haveing them tear it down, they are most likely chargeing the same as if you just took the complete quad. Just seems like a lot of unneeded work.

actually i would suggest getting someone to help you hold it, the way i took my 250x motor out was to pick it up, so the head is through the top of the frame, and then wiggle the bottom out and the top will come out nicely, i was in your shoes once, just have someone help you cary it, AND DON'T DROP THE MOTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! be pacient, o, and i would buy a manual and a torque wrench so you know the torque specifications on all the bolts, that is very essential to do when putting back together, just be pacient and have some help, it will come out, o and it is suppost to come out the left side after u remove the motor mounts if you haven't already done so

I took mine out and it came out fairly easy. Make sure everything is loose, and tilt slowly and to the left, and pull may need some help it is kinda akward to hold and pull from that angle. Make sure u mark all your bolts or put them back in there holes.:macho
