Ok this winter i'm debating between maier and full bore for a 300ex, iheard that maier is a lot thicker and dosent scratch as easy, but full bore might look better. idont know there a big price difference thats the big concern.

maier comp. : 280.00 est
full bore comp: 500.00ext

they both crack, scratch, look good with stickers, and look like crap in the mud, get maier, its cheaper, and ul hav more money for extra mods

If the only riding i did was dunes, i would go full bore for sure. if you trail ride, mx etc...... get maier, its not as soft of a plastic compound

You could have a full set of Maiers, graphics and seat, and carbon fiber scoop for about the same price as Fullbore..

I think maier could make the plastic better. The fit and finish is horrible.

maier on the 300 looks horrible, i really hate just my 2 cents but here are some pics of fullbore that will right away change your mind

yeah for a 300 i would go with fullbore. The maier on a 300 is just HORRIBLE looking! normaly i would say maier, but not on a 300!

I agree!! If it was a 400, definatley Maier, but it looks funny on a 300!!

Yea I would go with maier cuz then you can get rid of the gay hood and carbon fiber and then get graphics and maybe a seat and your all set you've equaled the valkue of fullbore..

i know maier's service is better (it has to be ) i ordered orange fullbore anbd they told me 4-5 weeks and it has been 9 and they just told me 2 more so it went from being 4-5 and now it is 11-12 but it does look tyte as *****

Hey guys, I'm new here. Just picked up a '87 250X with completely trashed plastic (thus I'm reading up).

All the Maier plastic I've every seen looked horribly dull and just plain unattractive. Lately however, I've heard that their plastic is shiney?

My question....what will I get if I order Maier plastic from the '02 Dennis Kirk? If the finish is shinier I'll go for it, but no way will I take what I've seen before. Any ideas?

Oh, and I'm not ruling out plain ole stock 250X plastic, it's just hard to find in good shape.

From what I learned. Fullbore is over twice as much as maier, fullbore is easier to scratch, and new maier is more shiny than the old stuff. If you order maier, get it from either sunset atv or rocky mountain they are the cheapest places around.

Unless you got money coming out your ***** then get the maier. If you think about it. One wreck with that 500 dollar fullbore and you will be sorry. So id go with the maier and it will give you more leighway to do other mods.

Micahdogg... The Plastic That Dennis Kirk Is Selling Out Of Thier 2002 Dirt Catalog Is The Old Dull Maier... I Called them When i Was Looking To Find Out & They Said It Was The Dull.... I Bought Mine From Rocky Mountain & Was Pleased With The Amount & The Quick Shipping & It Was The New Shiny (& Man Does It Look Nice) Also It Was Actually Cheaper Than Dennis Kirk By $100.00

their newer plastic is shiney, and it looks real real good, if would have to agree with spliffy, rockymountain is an awesome company and i've always gotten my stuff within a week and i'm on the other side of the us, they also seem very good to talk to and their prices are some of the cheapest i've seen

you dont really hear a lot, if anything, about ufo, i think their fenders are floppier, its 300 bucks and it only comes in red according to rockymountain
