I have a white bros r4 that I just drilled the rivets out. I dumped the core and packing to find that the core was mangled
and the packing was burnt up. I know I could just put any 4 stoke packing in.... but were can I find a core for this pipe??

Haha, Sorry I have no suggestions for you. But when I first bought my 400, the owner had a r-4 on it. Yikes my friend from three miles away could hear me cruising around in my yard. The thing was so damn loud. I didnt bother repacking it, because in my mind the power + sound = no worth it. I went to a Sparks X-6 shortly after I bought it and provided alot of top end. Then I sold my full Sparks about 2 years ago now, just so my machine doesnt cause the wildlife to go deaf.
Good luck anyways.
I remember the whole inside was completely thrashed around, and some of the inside metal was torn. Thing sure put out some decibels.

Buddy of mine just went through this with his R4. He called up pro-circuit and you can not buy just the core. Your outta luck. Your going to have to buy a new pipe.

Yea well I made it work.... I got some fmf 4 stroke packing and some stainless pipe.
I ended up cutting off the end of the core and riveting the outside of the core to the pipe. Then expanding the pipe to the size of the slip on. Then packing and riveting some more. Works freakin great! Sounds a tad muffled, but still sounds like a R4. Feels like a bit more power.... or maybe that is just me?

well I won't take that thing apart again for quite a bit. but I will get some pics of it together tomorrow. I tilted the tip a little to the side too. Looks kinda nice like that.
I plan to take It back apart and replace the rivets with stainless allen head bolts. But like I said... works freakin great. Beats
spending money on a new slip on. 25 bucks total for the packing... a new drill bit
,stainless rivets and stainless pipe. A new white bros pipe.
