ok, i need i ballpark price on what it would take to revuild my motor to a 416(possibly 426), 11:1 comp., hotcams stg. 2, head studs, and what ever else you think is nescesary(sp). thanks.

It's been awhile since i've this so the number may be off.

Bore job $40-50
Piston & rings $120
Cam $125
Top end gaskets $35
HD clutch springs & gasket $40
Head studs I don't know

This is assuming you're doing all the work except the bore job.

Ya his prices are pretty close, but if you go with the 426 it will be more, because they cant bore out the stock sleeve, they have to take it out, bore the cylender, and install the new sleeve, which would probably get pretty pricey, and i'm not sure if u even need head studs if ur only going to a 416

I belive the 426 can be done with the stock sleeve but some prefer to resleeve. Also, compression ratio has alot more to do with the need for HD studs than the bore size.

ya, the safest bet is 11.1, thats quite a bit more than stock, and u can still run pump gas, most people i know that run 11.1 have no problems and they all have stock studs

studs are like 50, and maybe 50 to have them put in. id get them. you probly want a crf450 cam chain. its not a must but you mine aswell be safe

416 is the largest you can do on the stock sleeve

im pretty sure its 426on stock ssleeve. i am about 75% sure. i know 440 is the "1" that cant be done.
