My two cents...
1. I have billet aluminum rear spacers, I'm 200 lbs and there are fine.
2. Durablue are fine too.
3. Stay AWAY from the extended bolt type without the billet or durablue hub type support. The bolts have no support.
4.Wider in the rear with the the stock front width could be tippy in tight corners.

I am getting the E-Z fit dura-blue spacers

I have the hub type spacers on the rear and they work fine, I did flip the front rims to match the extra width of the rear

fill me in on the front rim flip. how long did it take?
what do you need for it?

takes two valve stems, couple tire spoons, drill

1. remove the wheel from the atv
2. pull the tire off the rim
3. pull valve stem out and invert it (put it in backwards)
4. drill a hole on the other side of the rim
5. pull the new stem in the hole (the correct way)
6. duplicate on the other side

note: this will expose the brake caliper to possible damage if you ride in real rocky areas

after you pull the first valve stem out, check the size of the hole you need to drill on the other side (I think its 3/8")

adds a couple inches to each side (4" overall)

stock wheels are 3-2 which 3" inside and 2" outside. Having 1 more inch outside I would think would allow your wheels to bend much easier.

measure the stock rims, you get aprox: 2 1/2" from the center of rim to ouside lip, and 4 1/2" from center to inside lip

the stock wheels are very strong, they hold up great

there can be a little more bump steer when you riding fast on trails with lots of roots/rocks but the trade off of having the added stability is well worth it (most cant feel the bump steer)

extended a arms are obviously the better way to go as well as an extended axle vs spacers but for the money the spacers/flipped rims are unbeatable

I will get a better picture,

see the diff. between the 450r front rim and the 250ex behind it?

the 250ex is alot deeper, poking the wheel outward

I didn't use 450rJam's method to go wider, but I have seen lots of others (on this forum) who have flipped their front wheels. Bump steer could be an issue because front wheel spacers and flipping the rim does change the steering angle index SAI.
HOWEVER, I have never heard of anyone bending a front wheel because they flipped it around.
Anybody out there actually have this happen because of flipping their rims???

450rjam thank you for the info

I've never heard of a wheel bent due to being flipped, I do know however that it does increase bumpsteer, and in turn will wear out front end parts faster.

Its one of those mods that I refuse to do, and I advise others to do it at your own risk.

450rjam wat all do u have done to ur 250ex?

450rJam
10-30-2007, 03:14 PM
its all stock, just the spacers and flipped rims to make it wider

its my wifes, she likes to play but no need for power like most of us
I told her we could get her a 400ex like my daughters but she likes her "super easy to drive" 250ex

if i buy rear wheel spacers would i be able to go to the track without bending my axle? And it would be an average track

under normal conditions I would say you wouldnt

depends on your weight and how big you go on jumps

if your 200lbs and case a 50' double............
or get into a violent roll over at 50mph.........

you can bend them, spacers or not

450rjam, wat kind of tires do u have on ur 250ex cuz they look smaller?

450rJam
11-11-2007, 04:43 PM
they are stockers, I run about 6 psi to take up the small bumps and help with traction in the sand

the z250 is so underpowered I do put the rears off my 450r on it to help with the gearing a little (they are shorter)

so you have stock tires on your 250ex
