i have a 1998 yamaha warrior the upgrades so far are AC racing front bumper, Pro flow air filter, new maier plastics, and rebuilt motor with Wiseco piston(piston is stock size and compression). I want to increase my performance and want to know what engine mods would be the best to increase that without spending anymore than like $300. I am getting an exhaust sometime this week.

This winter do a rebuild. Get a Wiseco High Compression piston and a hotcam stage 1. That is like 250 bucks. You will feel a big difference with the HotCam. Especially with a high compression piston and a pipe. What kind of pipe you getting?:)

what would be a good site to go through for the parts and i was either gonna get the baffles out of the stock exhaust or one of my friends can make me a straight exhaust that would be like more of a tip on the stock head pipe do you have any suggestions on if i would have to change the jetting and what size jet and the reason for not getting a nicer pipe is because i will be 16 in a few months and am getting a car so selling the fourwheeler for the car.

Well first off how much money you got to spend on everything?

Second once you do your parts go to this place for jets, I am not sure on the jetting just ask around.

Third go to http://www.motosport.com/offroad and put in your quad and look through there parts. A high compression piston and Hotcam stage1 would work excellent.:)

i have 300 but i can take the baffles out and can do the pipe by myself

Well then I'd say a hotcam stage 1 and a Wiseco pro-lite piston kit. Then save up some more for an HMF slip on and an FMF powerbomb header for like 500 bucks. With all of those mods you'll see an amazing power increase.;)

If you have any other questions just PM me and I can help ya out. Also don't take the baffle out it really doesn't help IMO. Just do the mods I stated.;)

I have decided that rather than put the money into the warrior to get a fourwheeler that i think will be easier to mod and will be faster. So i am trading it in for a 1999 yamaha banshee. The banshee has dual toomey pipes and the guy i am trading for is going to put on extended a-arms and then i will prolly be putting a durablue axle on it. I would like to here some opinions on this and if you guys think it would be worth it.

Well IMO warriors kinda suck.:p So a banshee aint bad. For motocross I'd say it isn't that good. But it is an all around good quad. If you do get it trade it for a 400ex or even a 300ex with some cash. I'd say for trails you best bet is a 400ex and for motocross. But that is JMO:)

I dont really like the warriors either and thats why i am getting rid of it. I geuss i dont like the electic start on it cuz the starter keeps breaking and i want something that is faster and is better off the line and not as heavy and i found the banshee for 900 so i am gonna get that. I was looking at a race ready 300 ex for trade on my warrior but i am 6 foot 4 inches tall and 250 pounds and only 14 years old so i fit on the 300 ex for now but still am growing so i wouldnt fit on it in a couple years. If i do get another it would be a 400 ex.

Ya get the banshee and sell it or trade it for a semi modded 400ex or 250r. That is your best bet.:)

i dont do motocross i mainly trail ride and ride around the farm and might bring it to a track for fun once in a while and use it for ice fishing. Mainly just having fun with it.

Ya don't get extended anything for trail riding, a 400ex is your best bet.:)

the extensions on the a-arms is mainly because the a-arms on it are bent and i figured i might as well get extended ones if i need new ones and i am getting an extended axle because i want the front and back to be even or at least not have the back narrow and the front wide.

there is a manifold that will allow you to switch to one carb instead of 2. That mod will increase bottem end. making it more trail friendly, a boost bottle will also help out thoratle response.
banshees can be good trail quads aswell. it just takes more skill to ride it

Thanks for the information. I should be picking up the banshee within two weeks. Then it is going back to the shop for some the engine rebuild.

If you're getting a banshee for 900 bucks (correct me if im wrong), there is something seriously messed up with it and it is going to need a lot of work.

it has a blown engine which is the reason why it is 900 and is the reason why i wrote is going back to the shop for a rebuild
