Does anyone know the rules for motorcycles in Pa? if i would have my permit, but not my liscense yet, would i be able to (legally) ride an under 50cc bike on the road? my friend just got one and i can get one for cheap from the same guy, and he says you can drive them on the road legally with your permit. it like 49.5cc.

as long as you have your motorcycle permit you can ride one. A regular driving permit will not include this. Just make sure you can inspect that 50cc & you can get insurance on it or you will be screwed.

pretty sure its 16. why are you using a 50 to ride down the road, is this a moped?

16 or 16.5 for a bike permit? cause if you can get a motorcycle permit at 16, you could go away by yourself. it sucks with a car permit cause you gotta have an adult along.

i think it is 16 for the permit, but no passengers, and no riding at night. if you buy a r6 or something the cops wont even be able to read the plate number. haha:devil:

sweet. so if im 16 i can get my motorcycle permit, and the sefety courses or whatever, then i could get like a ninja 250? and be able to ride it on the road, because it would be nice to be able to get to work without my parents driving me all the time.

yeah, you can get like what ever size motorcycle you want, there is no restriction on that, and i think you can take your actual liscese test like a week later. i want to buy a xr 400 or something and do that, but the parents wont allow me

have 2 wait 6 months after get your permit to take your test, PA laws dont make any sense.
if not sure call your local state police, since they will be the one giving you the fine, but make sure you have the right insurance or you could loose it all

yep in Pa you have to be 16 for your permit. Then after you get your permit, you have to wait 6 months until you are able to get your license. Go to a bike dealership and take a bike saftey course. Most of them let you use their bikes, and some of them actually test you for your license.

if it is CALLED a 50cc bike you need a permit. if its labeled as anything less then that you don't need a license or nee to be 16. mopeds are included. they are like 30cc...and you don't need to be 16 to ride one. you should be able to get your motorcycle permit the same time you get your license. but you need to have someone over 21 riding a bike next to you till you have a full motorcycle licnese.
