300ex starting problem

I have a 300ex that won't start..... everything worked fine, then It didn't. Battery is charged, and all the wires are hooked up. I can use a screwdriver to jump it off by putting it against the to nuts on this small round thing right before my battery. and it starts right up. What do you think I need to replace?? Sorry, I don't know much about elec starts. any help??

check for a blown fuse

that round thing that you are touching, just unconnect the connectors and then turn it around so you are using opposite ends than before. That should fix this, if it isnt a blown fuse.
