Pilot size

I am doing a little work on my buddies yfz. He has a looney tuned dual exhaust on it and they told him a 60 pilot. Does this seem kinda big? Everyone else I have seen has a 45 or 48 or there abouts. This is an 06 bike. It had alot of bog with the 60 main so I put in a 48 its snappy as hell now but the header is getting cherry red where it comes out of the motor and about 6 inches up each side of the y pipe. Did I lean it down too much. This is just sitting and I am applying about 1/8-1/4 throttle. Should I leave it or put in a bigger one. Fuel screw is about 2-1/4 turns out.

thats normal,most of the ones ive seen will glow at idle or part throttle if you are setting still,i have an 07 and i run a 50 pilot

Well I took it out to ride it an its too lean so I am going to wait for him to order a 50 through 60 and see which is better.
