First i know nothing about crank bearings and rods and all this stuff, so use lamen terms when replying. I have an 04' 450r and i have heard that the crank bearings and rod may go when putting in mods. I was wondering what is the best chioce of Crank Bearings and Rod? And is there anything else i should replace? I was also wondering why replace crank bearings and not the crank?

I have a JE 11.5:1 piston, a Stage 2 HC, Rossier full ehaust, full Port & Polish, Big Gun Rev Box, Half air lid box.

I would recommend going with all OEM Honda stuff.

In fact an entire new crank and rod with one of the crank bearings attached already, and the updated sleeve to prevent wobble of the bearing, is only $190ish from servicehonda. That is the route I went.

yeah what 400exrider707 said is a good way to do it. if you want tho you can get a hotrods +3mm strocker to make it a 470 instead of stock displacement. you can get those of ebay for like 220 new,

One of my best riding buddies went and ordered a regular stroke hotrods replacement crank, against my suggestions, the crank bearing that came on the crank from hotrods is completely toasted after 2-3 races. The whole bottom end has metal shavings packed in it again, now I know others have used the hotrods stuff before without problems, but I myself am not a fan.

Yeah I too was just posting what I have seen. I had always heard that hotrods rods were not that great, and then after seeing this, just put a bad taste in my mouth is all....
