i have a very nice 04 yfz that is all stock except for some tag fat bars. it is in excellent condition, never wrecked or rolled or anything. It has been taken care of very good. I am wanting to trade for newer 250f because i bought a yz125 a couple of months ago and since then i havent been on the quad. i guess im just more of a dirt bike guy. im located in martinsville, indiana, which is in between indianapolis and bloomington.

most of the bike is stock . with the exception of the high compresion piston . the motor was redone 20 hours ago and the parts were almost a thousand dollars and the shocks have been redone for a 160-180 lb rider . THE SUSPENSION WAS 1100 DOLLARS . stock exhaust . the most reliable and the fastest 250 f i have ridden . anti vibe steering stem to reduce arm pump . A SWEET RIDE . THE CRF IS 2005 WITH CLEAN TITLE .

your bike sounds really nice, but i just compared the kbb values of our bikes and yours is about 800 less than mine. i guess i need to be looking at 06s to get a closer trade, and even then i would be losing a couple hundred dollars.

i just spent over 2500 in suspension and motor work . your bike has a new motor? aftermarket suspension ? see how much you get for that o4 yfz . my buddy just bought one locally for $2000 and it was in awesome shape .

dude dont get mad, its a fact that atvs hold their values alot better than mx bikes. im just saying that in order for me to trade for a bike with equal value it needs to be an 06

alright calm down, im not trying to start an argument here. all im saying is that sure your bike may have some expensive stuff done to it, but that doesnt mean much to people who want something near stock or stock. maybe to racers, but thats about it. heres an example. about 2 years ago i had an 05 z400 that i had had since new. i decided i wanted to trade to a guy for his 04 crf250 that had alot of stuff done to it. he had just had the suspension redone, and the motor was fresh, it had new graphics, an $800 carbon exhaust and some other things like bars and a quickshot. well i looked at the kbb values and they were about the same, and i figured with all the work done to his, and mine being stock, it was a good trade. So i did it. About a year later i decided that i wanted another quad. so i went to a local dealer to see what he would give me on a trade in. the bikes value had dropped substantially, alot more than old quad had. and when i asked him about giving me more because of the work done to it, he said that he couldnt give but a hundred or two more because people dont want and are not willing to pay extra for aftermarket parts already on the bike unless they are hardcore racers.

so what im trying to say is that ive been down this path before and im not going to do it again.

Suggested Retail Value $4360 The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.

all i am saying is that not everyone cares about kbb . my suspension is a safety issue . my front end will soak up almost anything and my strong motor not kbb, will pull me out of a corner . so what i was trying to sell you on was the benefits of all of those parts . The average person doesnt know what effects the aftermarket parts has on the bike therefore not understanding the parts doesnt mean they cost less . dude i suggest we leave this subject alone and agree to disagree . i wish you luck on the trading of your bike and sorry for highjacking your thread . good night . mike

no to jack your thread but i think your asking a little to much on trade value?????? at 4300, the 04yfz's arent selling for that much, localy here there going for 3000-3500 if that, i just picked up one with a few mods for 2700 and sold my 05, with mods for 3700, just some food for thought, you may wanna reconsider the crf250, its a badass bike

o yea i know that i couldnt sell it for that much, and im not trying to sell it. i am just using kbb as a baseline for a fair trade. and i had a crf that was as nice as that one and i traded it plus cash for the yfz.

i have 2 05's One is a YZF and the other is a KXF, both 250's.

The KXF has a full dmc pipe pc'ed black frame and swingarm, comes with 2 sets of plastic, one with thunder alley graphics and one pro circuit graphics, has a fresh motor with only about 2 rides on it and i just recently adjusted the valves as well.

The YZF is mostly stock other than, 2 sets of plastic one with N-Style Graphics the other with One Ind. and it had a fresh motor and clutch last spring.
