Raptors Must Be pretty Fast

Ok, A Buddy of mine has a 660 Raptor, Now my 450 is setup pretty Decent, ESPECIALLY for low end, I have a 13t, Full Rossier pipe, HC1, open air box, uni filter and is jetted accordingly, Now I finally got a chance to drag race him at silver lake a few weeks ago, and he pretty much kept up with me for the most part! Does this sound right? He has a Yoshi Slip on, and I pretty sure thats about it.

13t normally isn't that great for drag racing, it's probably hurting u.

You'll get a lot of tire spin off the line, and then even when u do catch ur going to top out fast.
Esp when u combo the 13t with the HC1.

My HRC cam (all top end) was WAYYYY better for drag racing then my 02 CRF cam, but the CRF's low/mid power is much more usable at the track/trails/dunes.

When all my friends started riding MX with stock bikes they all threw on a 13t and said it was amazing. But now that they have modded motors the 13t was useless and they couldn't pull holeshot anymore. They slapped the stock 14t back on and had much more solid starts.
Goda figure in ur engine power a long with ur riding style to decide ur gearing.

Yep all that extra power and then lower gearing... you have the power to pull taller gearing without hurting low end..

yah... the 450R's previous to 06 arent too quick...

its been 3 years, but i remember dragging with some buddies- one with a 450r and one with a 660, and the 660 was right with the 450r... and there were 4 of us and we kept rotating bikes...

Well, My 14t is laying around here somewhere...Maybe I'll throw it on there for Chits and giggles. I'm not a big Drag racer anyway, I dont think it really proves much, how often do you use 5th gear in the woods or on the track? :confused: :p

Same here wckedclownz69, i hane an 04 450r and i raced a 700r and a 660 many times and beat'em both. I did lose to a 660 a couple weeks back, but he had every thing but the kitchen sink on the thing. All i have is a pipe, jetting, filter & lid.

I have a Stage 2 Hot Cam, 11.5:1 JE Piston, 1750 Big Gun Rev Box, and a full Port & Polish coming. That 660 that beat me is gonna get it bad next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:macho
