I got my sons bike about 2months ago and the dealer told me that it's the updated version with stronger tranny, oilcooler, frame bracket, etc... On either side of the motor it says Xtreme. Wonder what the difference is from the FYM motor? Anyone know?

From what i was told,it has upgraded gearing package.I would not know the difference from the two gears if they both sat in front of me.The first models that came out had some frame and steering issues.I recently (today) saw a site selling the Xtreme with fym stickers that replaced the xtreme stickers. From what i could see from the pictures and the advertising was xtreme ty125,but all fym logos replacing xtreme. Search google 2007 ty125,i am sure you will it .Greg

(This is what i found about the engine on a site selling JUST THE ENGINES) . The Long awaited FYM CRIII XTREME 125 Engine is finally available as an upgrade path for older fast50s ! The Kit engine is OEM in the CRII and CRIII, This is the real thing! Beware of Illegal Counterfeits that are being sold on E-Bay and other places. Those fake engines are manufactured by Lifan and Dukar are imprinted with “xtreme” on the side covers, their engines are imitations ! Their wire harness will not mate to FYM units or to a HONDA CRF wire harness. They are not “Original Xtreme or FYM”! Buy one of these counterfeit engines and you are on your own for parts and technical support! Buy with confidence from FYM XTREME and get 100% Support after the sale. We have parts for all FYM XTREME engines in stock ! Contrary to what you may read on the internet FYM Xtreme engines are NOT GPX engines either. GPX does not equal FYM XTREME ! A few of OUR many quality features include: A 10mm diameter reinforced upper engine mount boss not 8mm, the 5 plate clutch is mounted on the transmission main shaft (not the crankshaft), the 3 row oil cooler ($250 value, included in the kit !). Our engines exclusively use a crankshaft driven, high capacity oil pump as original equipment. Why you ask ? So the top end of the engine does not starve for oil when using the standard oil cooler and the cam chain is not “stressed out” driving the big pump. Our FYM full sized intake manifold does not “step down” to a tiny intake port like many “brand X” engines ! Japanese made roller bearings throughout including the camshaft. 4 speed "all up shift” transmission is standard. Engine Kit includes: CRIII Engine, Oil Cooler Kit, 26 mm Mikuni (made in Japan) carb, Intake manifold, CDI, Left Side cover and hardware. We recommend the use of 428 chain and sprockets for increased durability.

I saw that on Ebay a few weeks ago. Seems like it's trying to bash Lifan motors but I've heard only good things about the Lifan motors :ermm: . Some who had the old Xtreme bikes were replacing their motors with the Lifans. Weird thing is, it's says that the motors with the Xtreme covers on them are fake Xtreme motors or copycats. Mine has it on them and my bike came directly from Xtreme to an Xtreme dealer that they have listed on their site. Seems to me like their simply trying to persuade peeps on their products by bashing others :(

To answer you question about FYM
double d 1 is the newest version of this bike say FYM on the side or not? The VIN TAG on our bike says 2007,and has a FYM engine. Purchased late August of 2007.I hope that helped you. Xtreme has added a decent spec link on their site to engines that they are and have used.Bike and quad specific .Including valve adjustment, head bolt patterns , cam & cam chain lengths.
