ok, my stock stuff is crap, looks like crap, and is crap, anyway

i need steel, Ti, stainless steel (no aluminum) sprokets, and a really good X/O ring chain, any suggestions without it being overly expensive

I personally like Sprocket Specialist's sprockets, and D.I.D chain's....

I really like the Renthal front and rear sprockets... Even though the rear sprocket is aluminum... I like it alot!:) I am not happy with Sidewinder at all... My rear sprocket broke after only a few rides on it! :huh

As for O ring chains (X-Ring), wow, there are soo many good chains out there. I currently have the X ring chain by DID... No problems with it.

Good luck!

I have been wondering the same thing. I think I will need new Sprockets and Chain before long and I don`t know where to start. I was thinking Renthal Sprockets, but a DID or Renthal Chain? Also O-Ring or just a normal Chain?

what are the differances between x ring and 0 ring, that are the pros and cons? i kinda have an idea of what they are

X ring is supposed to stretch less and last longer

I have the D.I.D. X- ring chain. No probs what so ever. The X ring is actually an O-ring. I seals the grease in better than the old style. It's a great chain, I would definately recommend.

As for sprockets, I think I have Sprocket Specialties front and rear.........no worries there either.

How much does the DID X-Ring cost?

I got my D.I.D. X-ring chain and front and rear sprockets from C&D Racing for $100 to my door. Pretty damm good if I do say so myself. Chain by itself I believe is $ 65 or so.

My stock chain happened to break today. If it wasn't for my case saver my engine would have been shot. Well, I was wondering if it is better to go with a new chain and sprokets or just a new chain. Do the sprokets really help in performance. The D.I.D X-ring is wht I would go with by the way. I don't know what sprokets.

Well when the time comes I will get a D.I.D X-Ring then. Does Rebel Gears make Sprockets for the 400? That`s what Jones runs.

Yes, if you get an aluminum rear sprocket, it will help in performance as far as less rotating mass, but the aluminum may wear faster than the steel rear sprocket.

No problems with my aluminum rear sprocket, and it is much lighter than the stock rear sprocket.:)

Replace the chain and sprockets all at once. A worn chain with new sprockets or worn sprockets with new chain will not allow everything to "wear" together as 1 unit. It will cause premature wear to the opposite component.
