Yes, another tire thread. Did some searching and I've noted that 22" tires are the way to go, it's the 'ol ladies quad and she only trail rides.

I keep reading 22" is the way to go in the back, but what about the front??

Gonna go with the Kenda Klaws unless theres a better soft/mud terrain tire that is competatively priced?

Opinions are appreciated. And the quad is a 2003 400EX with stock size wheels which i believe are 10" front and 9" rear.

ITP mudlites are pretty nice especially for mud or soft terrain on sport quads except they dont come in a 22 for the rear 22 in the front and 20 in the back

I just looked at those, pretty impressive, kind of want something like the ITP Trac Stars. And I need the 22inch rear.

Am I going to have any trouble with the Kenda Klaws? Or should I just get them?

Stick with the claws. Mudlites suck on a sport quad. Its a very poor handling sport tire. They're very rounded and two wheel real easily. Klaws have a flatter profile and will stay planted alot better around the corners. One word of advice with the 22" rear Klaws though......... I would recommend 23" fronts. Those rears are pretty tall and it will handle poorly if you don't keep the front higher than the rear.

alot of people will like the kenda klaws personally i think they arent meaty enough but they clean out pretty well and if you like something like the trac stars maybe youll like maxxis all traks or something like that

ditch the klaw rears and get knarly rears. they are soo much better for mud. I wouldnt suggest using klaw fronts tho, i hate them and they have no control in mud for braking.

^^^ what he said. forget the klaws for mud and soft stuff, even though they're reversible there are MUCH better choices out there...dont get me wrong they are great all around tires, especially in hard back...but your asking specifically about the soft stuff right? the knarly's are great tires for that, not a bad choice at all...people are prolly going to say razrs as well but again, stay away from those if you like the mud.

either of the knarly's, 20s or 22s would be great.

BUT my personal favorite, if you want to spend just a bit more, are the kenda radials...these tires are incredible!! i've never been so impressed with a tire in my life. (next in line would be the knarly's though if you like those better)

heres the radials: very meaty tires.

and the matching fronts...very unique front tires, great for trails and xc, also incredibly impressed with these.

The Kenda Knarly St's that I want do not come in 22/11/9. So pissed!

And the Maxxis all trak looks like it would turn into a mud donut, not good.

GBC mud sharks... a little heavy, but when it comes down to soft stuff there isnt a tire that can beat it. flat footprint, durable sidewall, long lasting tire. im on my second set right now, and prolly wouldnt get anything else.
